My name is Suzanne Thompson. I enjoy photography, dining at non-chain restaurants, trying new vegetarian recipes, reading, blogging, and exploring new locations...the three most valuable are family, faith, and friends.
I was born in England, moved to Ethiopia when I was four, then to America when I was seven. In American, I have lived in eight states. Bob and I were married in January 2010 and we currently live in California and North Carolina.
We had all the logs hauled away today from the trees that were removed. As old as the trees are, they could tell a lot of stories.

A friend (Doug) from church came and helped Bob with installing the support beams. After pulling nails out of a couple stacks of 2×4′s so we could use them for a temporary support wall, I did a little yard work. This parking pad to the right of our house had very ragged edges and looked [...]
Bob set up his laser level today so we could test the leveling the the floor. The tool flashed a laser beam all around the downstairs, then we went around and measured the floor to laser beam distance. The level was in the low point and is definitely not level…which we knew when we bought [...]
Last night at Costco, Bob and I bought an LED bulb to test. We were really pleased with the amount of light and the hue of the bulb (not to blue). So today, I went back to Costco and bought 22 more bulbs. They are “green” as they put out the same light as 75 [...]
We stopped by the house early as the dumpster wouldn’t be collected for a few hours. Bob wanted to get a picture of me by the dumpster. In the afternoon, I looked at tile options and more kitchen cabinets.
Our dumpster was delivered today. Our neighbor helped fill it and in a couple of hours we had it full. I called waste management to see if they could dump it and return it so we could refill it. Thankfully, they could schedule bringing us an empty one and taking away the full one. Here’s [...]
We took down a couple more trees today. Bob tied a rope partly up the tree then tied it to the Jeep. He cut a wedge on one side of the tree and as I pulled the the Jeep, he then finished cutting it down.
