We spent the first two days in Tahiti. When we arrived at the airport, we were greeted with fresh flower leis. Mine was still fresh the next day.
The hotel delivered us this plate of fresh fruit. The whole trip had a wonderful selection of fresh tropical fruit…mango, papaya, pineapple, etc.

Bob was really excited to get into the water and to try out his new snorkeling gear. The hotel had it’s own lagoon filled with numerous colorful fish. I wasn’t as excited about the fish nibbling my toes and have never snorkled before. The last morning in Tahiti, I did a practice snorkle in the sand bottom infinity pool.
In addition to fish, we also saw several birds. Here is one brave Myna bird that ventured just inside our room to eat some cracker crumbs. The island behind the bird is Moorea.
One day, we rode the bus into town to see the market. What a colorful selection of fruits, vegetables, fish, baskets and pareos (sarongs). There were also quite a selection of smells too, especially when we walked through the fresh fish section. We bought some fresh Tahitian vanilla bean…one of the ingredients in the berry dessert we had at our wedding. We’ll have to make the dessert for a special occasion sometime.

A colorful sunset from our balcony across the straight looking toward the island of Moorea.
